Lies become Truth

Lead me not on the journey of Truth

Tell me lies.Honesty is not Honest

Fabrications as high as rooftops but not my roof,

Lies are nothing but a word adjust:

O my! Why do you feel pain?

It is but words that leave you shaken;

That truth will drive you to shame,

Whose worth unknown, although his soul be taken.

Life is but Times fool, through death and aging

Within his span, what does he truly learn?

Lies reveal the truths of ones caging,

For years you’r life will be left for eyes to discern.

So what is a lie but a version of the truth,

Or some fantasy once told in our youth.

There Once was a Man

By: Tony L. Jefferson, Jr.

There once was a man on a quest for greatness

One thing stood in his way

He spent most his life searching for that one thing that held him back

He’d always blame others for his shortcomings

Losing love and friends along the way

His life was destructive, because he over endulged

He seemed to lack dicipline or be in touch with reality

In his mind he made others happy, but all they really wondered was if he was ok

He’d boast and brag and hide from the truth

But deep inside he longed

He hurt

Thing about hurt is it grows

It consumes

It can destroy

He sat one day

All alone

Thinking of why his life seemed to be in shambles

In a moment of clarity

He saw the truth

The truth was he was his own worst enemy

He was what held him back

He was the other half of his failed relationships

He was the reason for many of his ills

In his search for the truth

He found a startling revelation

Truth seekers often try to find the truth

They have to be prepared to accept it for what it is

He accepted this truth

Twisted Secrets

By: Tony L. Jefferson, Jr.

My secret lies between twisted lies

Lies never uttered from my lips

Placed there by hating eyes

Twisted minds

Spill strange motives

Is it me?

Or is it a conspiracy

Bred by ancient hate

From a distant past

What is the secret?

Where is the truth?

Cause I speak what I feel

No need for fairy tales

I seek what’s real

Twisted secrets masked as lies

Lies told to hide you from the world

Are you afraid of being exposed for who you truly are?

Or do you just live in a sad existence

Whatever the case

My truth shines bright

Bringing me joy in the day or night

Truth is

By: Tony L. Jefferson, Jr.

Truth is, for the longest time I’ve had a heavy heart

Filled with expectations not of my own

I never fronted

I was always me

I just kept inside what I really felt

Truth is I hate most things

Truth is I wake in the morning and ask why

Not a day goes by, that there isn’t someone I want to hurt

The same way I hurt daily

Why you ask, do I feel that way?

I myself don’t know and it only adds to the pain

I’m not a very good friend

Nor am I the best spouse

I’m selfish and self centered

I hate the word love

There are times where I question my faith

Because in reality where has it really gotten me

Through it all I had a smile as fake as faux leather

As fake as Fox News

Truth is I hate Republicans

Because they represent everything I really hate.

I wish I didn’t feel this way, but it seems there is no choice

When people give me words of encouragement, I dismiss it

No way can that positive thing you said could happen to me

I stick with the negative

Cause it’s as real as most bastards claim to be

Ya’ll created a monster, that can’t be silenced even by a bullet

Somehow I still survive

Somehow I still prosper

I don’t try, cause I wonder what is it truly worth

I’m working my way to a cold grave

Where nothing I did on earth matters

So why try to deny the fact

Impress you

Why bother

Love you I think not

Cause in the end

The truth is

Not real either

Secret Temptations

By: Tony L. Jefferson, Jr.

Temptation is life’s biggest tease

Causing these thoughts to come as they please

I made a vow to refrain from pleasure

But these little moments are hard to ignore

The thought of your body caressing mine

But all of this will happen with time

A concept I’ve pondered

Giving myself time to wonder

Is it more than just the sex

A night of passion with an ex

A heated encounter when I’m drunk

Or is all that shit just mental junk

Of my life having more meaning

Cause for once I’m not being demeaning

Finally learning about myself

Cause to truly love another you have to love thyself

Celibate temptations I will not bow

Cause true happiness is all I want to know

After Death

By: Tony L. Jefferson, Jr.

After I die, I want to be dressed in an all black suit

With some new boots

While I’m drifting up to heaven

I don’t want no fears, no tears, and no sneers

Just cheers

Cause I’m finally going home

Cause earth is hell sometimes froze over

Full of shady ass bitches and trifling bastards

I wanna go where the realist have gone

To bask in the new sunlight of the truth

It’s easy to envision a world better than here

Cause this is no world where we’d like to live

We’re placed here as a test

Testing what?

I have no clue

I guess I’ll find out what’s true after death

When you’ve been where I’ve been

By: Tony L. Jefferson, Jr.

Where have you been in your travels through life?

Did you take the easy route and drive through it all?

Carefree and single with out a worry about a soul

Or did you walk a few miles on burning sands and through troubled lands

Barefoot and thirsty

Praying for salvation that will never come

To a lowly soul such as yourself

By the world at large

Crushed like the aluminum can under the feet of my peers

Shattered and dashed like ashes from the urn that contains the remnants from your pathetic soul

Simplistic emotions complex scenarios

Explain to me the reason for breeding future ignorance

For hating your fellow brother who is trying to make a living just like you

Carrying a generation on his back

Whip scars never disappeared

They became mental instead of physical

Self perceived power is but a myth unless actions are taken to make it better

See you only see part of the story unless you dig deep within and search for the truth

The truth so obvious to the naked eye

It’s piercing stare strikes your heart through your soul

Invading your thoughts
