Spring Time Joy

By: Tony L. Jefferson, Jr.

Ahhh Spring

You bring

With blooming flowers and youngins running around

The old bones of winter thaw to reveal young and vibrant colors

No longer bland and cold

Not a nice shade of green and warm

Swimsuits and shorts replace coats and scarfs

Beautiful flowers bloom like new relationships

Gone is the depression

Oh but here come the allergies

Cause pollen takes over for snow

Your dog is shedding his fur

And everyone is in the cleaning spirit

Finally shedding away months of depression

Replaced by months of happiness

This is the season of renewal

This is spring

Pleasantries of Spring

By: Tony L. Jefferson, Jr.

As heavens bright beacon gleams across the bright, blue sky

Winds of time sweep across the rich smelling earth

Sweet smelling essences of blooming lives erupt throughout

Joyful noises fade into the wonderful chorus of the day

Bright colors blend in so nicely, making a splendid canvas of art

Beating wings followed by the sweet songs of morning greet us

Suddenly a nice, cool mist falls nourishing the season

The gently buzz of a bumblebee calms the waiting flower

Like the honey it produces

From the pollen it consumes

From the flower that yields

These pleasantries of spring I witness day and night

What joy and rebirth this season brings
